Who is responsible
The data controller is Gal Tidhar, Zagreb, Croatia (EU). Contact: gal@tidhar.org.il.
What this site collects
- Server logs. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, it records visitor IP address, browser type and the page requested, for security and delivery.
- Analytics — only if you accept. With your consent the site loads:
- Google Analytics 4 — aggregated, anonymised usage (pages, device, language, referrer).
- Microsoft Clarity — anonymised recordings of how pages are used (clicks, scrolling, mouse movement, with entered text masked) and heatmaps, to improve the site.
- Cookies & local storage. A consent flag (
analyticsConsent) is stored so the site remembers your choice. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity set their own cookies and local storage only after you accept. Decline and nothing beyond the consent flag is set.
Legal basis
- Server logs: our legitimate interest in security and delivering the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Analytics (Google Analytics + Microsoft Clarity): your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time by clearing the choice / declining.
Who processes the data (third parties)
- GitHub, Inc. (a Microsoft company) — hosting the site (GitHub Pages).
- Google (Google Ireland Ltd.) — Google Analytics, only with consent.
- Microsoft Corporation — Microsoft Clarity, only with consent. Data may be transferred outside the EU under standard contractual clauses.
No data is sold or shared for advertising.
How long it is kept
Analytics data is retained under each provider's default retention (Google Analytics ~14 months; Microsoft Clarity typically up to ~30 days for recordings, ~1 year for aggregates). Host server logs follow the host's own retention. The consent flag stays in your browser until you clear it.
Your rights (GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data (in a machine-readable form, Art. 20), to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise them, email gal@tidhar.org.il. You may also lodge a complaint with the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP).
